The Best Mini Laptop Computers

Thanks to recent advancements in portable computing and processors, many people are quickly discovering that mini laptop computers such as the HP Mini 110 or the HP Mini 120 can actually keep pace with the former $500 monster laptops of yesteryear. Granted, these are more the laptops that ran on Celerons and other not so impressive processors or hardware, but mini laptop computers such as the above are giving these laptops a serious run for their money.
Speaking about money, mini laptop computers like the HP Mini 110 only cost a surprisingly affordable $300 to $350 compared to the Celeron powered laptop computers of yesteryear or even the larger 17” screen sized models. This is because Intel’s Atom processors have come of age. While some offer dual-core multitasking performance, all of Intel’s Atom processors are now on par if not better than their previous generation, higher-end counterparts. Most people see such mini laptop computers as Internet browsers or lightweight email answering machines but for the writer or student these, little laptops can do a lot more than just weigh down your knapsack.
This includes the ability to last much longer than previous generation processor powered laptops, playback 480p video clips and much more. AMD’s recent foray into mini laptop computers with their APU or Fusion processors have resulted in mini laptops that can now display smooth 720p HD media and playback full HD 1080p video to a larger screen or HDTV. With these sort of results it is obvious that mini laptops are becoming much more useful than before.

On top of better performance, these new mini laptops also look a lot better than their previous generation siblings. The HP Mini 110 can come in a variety of colors along with a lot of choices in terms of HP’s own imprint designs. The keyboards on these tiny but mighty titans are also a lot more comfortable, with plenty of other computer manufacturers such as Lenovo, Samsung, Sony and Dell coming out with their own versions.

While touchscreen tablets are also gaining popularity in this range of users they still do not solve the fact that it is difficult to type for long periods of time and at comparable speeds on a touchscreen virtual keyboard. This is one of the main reasons why such mini laptop computers are probably going to stick around for a bit while longer, at least until every tablet has its own slider keyboard or keyboard dock and not just some cheap bluetooth keyboard attachment.
